New vehicles added to public services of Berat and Kucova municipalities through project
Integrated Solid Waste Management in Berat Region Project, provides technical assistance; advisory services and capacity development services including planning and design of municipal waste infrastructure. The project is built into four interrelated pillars that encompass the overall ISWM system. It offers a comprehensive approach for development highlighting a step-by-step route to EU standard alignment.
Upgrade of current situation of SW management, supports municipal priorities in implementing the first improvement step of WM, as the 4th project component. Implementation on the ground of local plans, rehabilitation measures congruent to DCM 389 and masterplan, provided a novel engineering solution for implementing a controlled disposal and operation of current municipal disposal sites. The measures also supported extension of service area into the mountainous terrain of the region.
Within the framework of the project, the bulldozers financed by the project were added to the fleet of public services vehicles of the Municipality of Berat and Kuçovë. Truck loaders will be used for the operation of the municipal landfills.
