Award ceremony of the #GreenBerat competition

Warm atmosphere and a wide participation of varied ages and the many winners in the Ceremony of Prize Award. Citizens of Berat, Kuçovë, Dimal, Skrapar dhe Poliçan, for about eight months, undertook environmental initiatives, implemented creative ideas involving various ages, individuals and organised groups. Following the voluntary implementation of initiatives, 35 applicants competed with their activity and the message conveyed to the community.

‘Waste management is the responsibility of each of us! Impressive is the participation of 1000 inhabitants in the environmental initiatives that are presented today, and especially the active participation of the new generation', emphasized Mr. Patrik Meier, Deputy Head of Mission of the Swiss Embassy, during the awards ceremony.

This competition, which started in February 2020 and ended in October 2020, took place in the framework of the Solid Waste Management Project in Berat Region, funded by the Swiss Confederation, through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, SECO.
